INGREDIENTS

St. John's Wort:

  • Well-known throughout both the naturopathic and medical communities, St. John’s Wort possesses a laundry list of benefits with a surprisingly safe herbal makeup. While its uses are widespread, it’s most famous for its ability to treat mental and emotional ailments. But, We are not taking it as a supplement, eating it, or drinking it in a tea here.  We are applying it to the skin.

  • When applied to the skin, St. John’s Wort treats burns and scrapes by boosting blood flow to the affected area. Which, is good for bruises and aches in muscles. When in creams it help keep open wounds clean by  killing microorganisms. It has also been known to help soothe sensitive skin.

  • Topical application of St. John’s Wort has shown to hydrate skin with it’s natural oils. Consistent application will firm up the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines.

  • When used for skin conditions can apply the oil directly to the skin, or use it in a cleanser or cream.

Arnica:

  • Support the relaxation of muscles tired from everyday wear-and-tear, vigorous exercise, or minor bruises and strains. Arnica and St. John's Wort have been used for centuries to soothe muscle fatigue and discomfort. Placed directly onto the affected area, this oil is used by athletes and outdoor enthusiasts, and for everyday aches and strains.

  • Again, we are not ingesting it. That is actually unsafe.  We are using it on the skin, topically.

  • It is thought that the chemicals that are medically useful are located in the flower heads and in the lower stems of the plant. There is some medical evidence showing that these Arnica chemicals might help with inflammation and pain. 

Shea Butter:

The antioxidant activity of certain active compounds in Shea Butter, such as linolenic and linoleic acid can help to prevent oxidative stress in the skin, which can reduce the likelihood of wrinkles, age spots, and other signs of premature aging. Following rapid weight change (pregnancy, crash diet, etc.), your body may develop stretch marks that can be difficult to eliminate. Thanks to the skin-lightening properties of this natural butter, you can make the stretch marks less noticeable.  Regularly applying this fat-rich butter to your skin can eliminate rough skin and boost skin tone by encouraging circulation and repair of damaged skin cells. Applying this substance to itchy or irritated areas of the body can help to quickly relieve discomfort and soothe conditions like psoriasis, acne, eczema, or rosacea.

Mango Butter:

With the rich antioxidant content found in mango kernels, this butter is an excellent topical application for eliminating skin conditions. It can help to alleviate inflammation on the skin caused by psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, and rosacea, among other common conditions.  The antioxidants will also neutralize free radicals, which cause oxidative stress in the skin and are responsible for wrinkles, age spots, and blemishes.  Applying this butter to your skin can also improve skin elasticity to keep you looking younger for longer.

Coconut Oil:

Did you know that coconut oil works great for skin? According to a 2018 study published in the International Journal of Molecular Science on the effects of plant oils on the skin, coconut oil is found to be rich in antibacterial, anti-aging, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.  It may also aid in treating various skin problems that include the following: UV radiation: Research suggests that the use of coconut oil protects the skin against the harmful effects of UV rays.  Dermatitis: A study published in Evidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine suggests that coconut oil is effective in relieving symptoms of atopic dermatitis (as compared to mineral oil).  This was backed up by another study published in the International Journal of Dermatology which found that virgin coconut oil is more beneficial than mineral oil-based formulations when treating children suffering from mild to moderate atopic dermatitis.  Skin wound: Virgin coconut oil helps to speed up wound healing given its indicated skincare properties. Xerosis or dry skin: Research shows that coconut oil is a safe and effective moisturizer for the skin. Pure cold-pressed, organic, non-GMO coconut oil is an excellent massage oil that can be used for all types of skin, including dry skin.  Antimicrobial activity: Monolaurin is an active component of coconut oil found to be antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal in nature. It protects against the harmful effects of bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus that causes pimples and other skin infections. Burns: Use of coconut oil helps in providing relief from burns. Also helps repair the skin barrier.

Bees Wax:

Beeswax has amazing antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and healing properties which make it a top choice for melting or chopping it up to create your own lotions, lip balms, creams, waxes, body butters, deodorants, and salves. Beeswax is also rich in Vitamin A which aids in cell turnover and reducing wrinkles and age spots while moisturizing your skin - without clogging up your pores!
